More tests.
Both of these figures are retired from the chess set line up, making them perfect guinea pigs for this test. I wanted to see how well my idea of filling the jar lids with clay and insetting the figures would work AND if just white base and black base would be enough to allow the peices to be identifiable.
Both figures are on the large side and neither are my favourite in terms of looks, so it's not a test of the figures but strictly of the base contrast and the look of the bases themselves when topped with a figure.
Former Marvel Heroes King, Mr. Fantastic, inset into white Sculpey clay, his base coated with one coat of metallic pearl white.
Under glass.
Former DC Villains Rook, Clayface, inset into black Sculpey clay, his base painted over with gloss black enamel.
Under glass.
Side by side in similar jars to compare the contrast of white and black bases.
