Darth Detail...
Yet another coat of yellow on Dr. Fate, Darth gets a coat of gloss black enamel on his helmet, gloves, boots, cod piece and chest monitor, steel highlights on the chest monitor, and the tips of his face plate, as well, steel on the lightsabre handle. Very dark grey drybrushed on his pants, sleeves and cape. White on the lightsabre blade as a base for the eventual neon red, gloss red enamel in his eyes. A drybrushed coat of white on a few parts of Magneto, brown in his lips/mouth area. Finally, a first coat of yellow on Robin's cape.

Robin Begins. Among other things.
Red on Robin's shirt, also on Superman's cape and touch ups on his boots. I did the first layer of red on the back of his cape as well, but forgot to take a pic. More red drybrushed on Magneto's top and pants, another layer of red on Captain America's gloves, boots and belly stripes, and some white on Dr. Fate's cape, top and and pants.
Glossy yellow enamel on Dr. Fate's helmet and glossy red enamel on Magneto's helmet, along with a touch of dark flesh tone on what's visible of his face. Notice the eye sockets remain black, which gives the helmet added "depth".
Reverse.

Basic Black.
Basic Black on my custom "Rhino", a second coat on Darth Vader, a first coat on my custom "Mole Man" and a drybrushed coat on Chewbacca.
I've used white to prime the custom "Robin" figure, a coat of yellow mixed with pearl white on Dr. Fate's cape, boots, gloves and over pants. Further, a glossy yellow enamel on his helmet and belt. Basic black on my custom "Green Goblin", "Mysterio" and "Juggernaut".

White.
A second layer of white on Mr. Fantastic's gloves, symbol, boots and collar. A second layer on Captain America's belly stripes, and a first layer on the star on his chest and back, the little white wings and "A" on his cowl and the white parts of his sleeves. Also a first layer of white on the back of Superman's cape.
Red and Light Blue.
Red on Magneto's top and pants, Martian Manhunter's belt and suspenders, and finally on Captain America's gloves, boots and belly stripes.
"True Blue" lightened with white on Mr. Fantastic's body, Dr. Fate's top and pants, Martian Manhunter's cape, collar, boots and pants, and finally on Captain America's helmet, top and pants.

More on Dr. Fate and Magneto
Yellow drybrushed over the cape, gloves and boots, then wet brushed with a mix of yellow and "Pearl White" to give the metallic effect. Also used same mix on his helmet. A very tiny hint of "True Blue" mixed with "Pearl White" on his top and pants.
Magneto gets a second coat of darkened red.

A bunch of colours.
"Bright Yellow" on Dr. Fate's gloves, cape and boots. "Medium Orange" mixed with "Pearl White" on his helmet. "True Blue" on his shirt and pants. "Violet Red" mixed with white on Magneto's cape, boots and gloves. Red mixed with black and then mixed with "Pearl White" on his helmet. Touches of "True Blue" on Martian Manhunter's cape, boots and pants. Touches of "True Blue" on Captain America. "True Blue" mixed with black on Hawkeye's bodice and helmet back, plus the same mix of "Violet Red" and white dry brushed over his boots, gloves and mask.
Reverse view to show the helmet and cape details. Magneto is nearing completion and may be done several layers before Dr. Fate.

Red rears it's ugly head, again.
Darkened red on Magneto's body and helmet, Captain America's gloves, boots and tummy stripes, Martian Manhunter's suspenders and belt and Sinestro's face and hands.
Remember how I said I'd try to paint them in parallel stages? To that end, the first layer of dark blue on Dr. Fate's body to contrast him with Magneto.

Green Goblin.
One of the most challenging mods. I'm pleased with the final product.
Step 1:
Bare metal figure.
Step 2:
Remove upright "fins" on gloves.
Step 3:
File hair down.
Step 4:
Mold a "pumpkin bomb" into figure's hand.
Step 5:
Add Green Goblin's signature hat.
Step 6:
Elongate character's chin.
Step 7:
Add Green Goblin's signature bag. Hey, even supervillains accessorise.
Rear view.
Step 8:
Finalize Green Goblin's hat mold.

Priming Dr. Fate.
This is the true test of my "Mod" on each figure. Much like painting a house, where your patching and sanding shows through if you don't do it well, the modified parts of the figure will show up in a bad way if the modifications aren't done right.
Here we have a primed Dr. Fate.
Front.
Back.
Side by side with the "Magneto figure that I worked the Dr. Fate figure out of. Both are at the same stage now, and I will do my best to paint them in stages, together to highlight the new modified figure.

Mod, Mod, Mod...
Here we have "Blok" from the Legion of Superheroes set. Little does Blok suspect that in a few minutes, he'll be transformed into...
Juggernaut! Single step modification. Add helmet. Done.
Here we have Shakedown, an obscure DC villain.
Step 1:
Bare metal figure.
Step 2:
Remove "energy blast" from figure. An Exact-o knife and lots of four letter words are the tools of choice for this part of the process.
Step 3:
Lightly file off the "SD" symbol on his chest, leaving plenty of paintable contour.
Step 4:
Add "Rhino"s signature horn. The horn is modelled from the epoxy putty I've been using, but unlike other figures, since this spot had no contour to mold the putty into I used a dab of crazy glue to secure it.

The VERY Easiest Mod.
This figure will become Mysterio, right before your eyes.
Now, for those who don't know, Mysterio is an illusionist who regularly scraps with Spiderman. For some reason, beyond wearing a green body suit and cape, he has an enormous glass bowl on his head. Possibly the lamest costume ever. But, he's fairly well known, and this was such a simple modification, I had to use him.

Carve off the chest emblem, add a fish bowl helmet. Done.
