R2 ReDo Part 3.

Probably the most difficult of all the figures. Lots of detail, some of which is NOT sculpted, plus, he's just TINY.

R2 ReDo

I tried to take just the white "body" off, but it wasn't to be. Stripped him right back to bare metal.

I take it back...

R2 D2 is NOT complete. I just looked at an enlarged version of the picture and he looks like crap.

I will continue until he looks better.

R2 D2 Done.

A final touch with blue on R2 and he's complete.

Top view.

Blue touches.

Making a start on R2-D2

This tiny bit of steel painted on R2-D2 marks a milestone. For the first time, an entire ROW of figures is now underway. Up until this point, most of the figures had been randomly distributed through each of the sets, but as of now, there is paint on every figure assigned to the back row of the Star Wars heroes. Thanks in large part to a similar colour scheme for most of the heroes, the majority of them are finished or near to complete.

For a reference reminder, I held an American dime beside R2. Believe it or not, he's NOT the smallest figure I'm using. He's actually a hair taller than the Yoda figure I recently completed.

After I took the above picture, I checked against my reference photos and realized that I had missed painting the bottom ring of R2's dome. Corrected here.

Sinestro, complete, for real this time.

After uploading what I thought was the final picture of Sinestro, I noted a tiny problem with his hairline. Fixed with black.

Rear view.

Sinestro, complete.

A final drybrush of pink which I immediately wet brushed with red and Sinestro is finished.

Black is black...

Black on Han Solo's pants and vest, drybrushed into his hair. On Obi-Wan, black drybrushed lightly into his hair. A tiny black touch up on Sinestro, just above his belt, under his left arm.

Punch it Chewie!

A little "Barn Wood" on Chewie's accessory bag and lightly drybrushed on his fur in spots and he's done.

Barn Wood...

On Obi-Wan's inner robe and Han Solo's shirt. Barn Wood. That's the name of the colour. Seriously.

Luke, complete.

A final tiny touch of flesh toned tan on his face and he's done.

Nothing rhymes with "Orangy-Brown"...

Half and half orange/brown on Chewie's hair in certain sections, drybrushed on Luke's hair and on Obi-Wan's robe.

Reverse view, also shows gloss black on Luke's belt packs

Cheetah needed a tail...

Since I had the putty out, the figure I plan to paint as Cheetah was tail-free so I fixed that!
